What events does this policy cover?

Here are some examples of what you may be covered for.

Negligent Care

An occupational therapist recommends an assistive device without proper assessment, leading to patient injury. The client claims the therapist did not follow appropriate guidelines.

Inadequate Assessment

An occupational therapist does not fully assess a patient's physical limitations, resulting in an injury during an activity. The patienclaims that proper safety protocols were not observed.

Improper Equipment Use

An occupational therapist recommends equipment that causes an adverse reaction or injury due to the patient 's specific needs. The patient alleges that the therapist did not follow appropriate selection guidelines.

Privacy Breach

An occupational therapist inadvertently shares confidential patient information with unauthorized individuals, causing emotional distress and privacy concerns for the patient.

Slips, Trips, and Falls

Accidents can happen; for example, someone could slip and sustain an injury or have their property damaged while on your premises. Even if you’re not at fault, you could still be held liable and face legal proceedings.

Public Liability insurance for occupational therapists offers protection against legal liabilities if a member of the public claims they were injured or experienced property damage due to your business operations or while on your premises.
