Statutory liability covers claims made against you during the insurance period by an official body for a statutory liability wrongful act.
You are entitled to one hour of free legal advice for circumstances that may give rise to a claim covered by this policy.
First Party Hacker Damage:
Coverage includes reasonable costs and expenses incurred to repair or replace parts of your website or computer system damaged, destroyed, or altered by a hacker. This helps ensure that your digital assets are quickly restored to their pre-incident state.
Third Party Cyber Liability:
Multimedia Liability: Covers you for claims arising from unintentional intellectual property infringements, defamatory statements, or breaches of confidence related to your website or email communications.
Computer Virus Transmission: Indemnifies you against claims resulting from negligent transmission of viruses, worms, or other harmful software that you might unknowingly spread through your digital interactions.
Privacy: Provides coverage if you're accused of unauthorized collection or misuse of confidential data concerning your clients or potential clients.
Coverage under the Cyber Liability endorsement is limited to $25,000 any one claim and in the aggregate inclusive of defence costs. If you require a Cyber Liability limit above $25,000, please speak to our team directly to assist you further.
Additional information for Training & Education cover (Psychologists’ Training and Education Extension endorsement)
This endorsement extends coverage to include activities such as tutoring, mentoring, and training of students, provisional psychologists, and other health professionals. It also covers psychoeducation, group therapy, and coaching psychology, provided that such healthcare services are provided by a suitably qualified Psychologist in accordance with industry recognised registration standards, professional codes and guidelines.
Psychology Board of Australia Requirements
When you practise as a psychologist or provisional psychologist in Australia, you must be covered by your own or third-party Professional Indemnity Insurance arrangements that meet the registration standard:
- for all aspects of your practice
- in all locations where you practise
- whether you are working in the private, non-government and/or public sector, and
- whether you are practising full-time, part-time, are self-employed, employed, or in an unpaid or volunteer capacity, or any combination of these factors.
Your Professional Indemnity Insurance cover must include:
- adequate and appropriate civil liability cover
- appropriate retroactive cover for otherwise uncovered matters arising from prior practice
- automatic reinstatement, or an equivalent approach which ensures that the amount of cover will not be exhausted by a single claim, or
- the equivalent of a to c above under third-party PII arrangements.
